1 Dead In Shooting At Cielo Vista Mall

Following a shooting at Cielo Vista Mall, one person has passed away and three others have been brought to the hospital.

There is no longer a danger to the public, according to police officials who claimed two persons are in custody.
There are no names or ages listed. All of the victims and the two accused are guys.

According to El Paso police, one of the suspects was killed by an off-duty police officer who was working at a mall business.

Three minutes after the initial 9-1-1 call, police officers arrived on the scene and detained one suspect right away.

 According to interim El Paso police chief Peter Pacillas, “everything was swiftly brought under control with the intervention of El Paso police and other organizations.”

Officers responded and brought the suspect into custody at 5:08 p.m. after receiving the initial report at 5:05 p.m.

According to Jeff Downing, the FBI’s top agent in El Paso, “a lot of credit needs to go to the off-duty officer that was at the mall and was able to get those folks in custody in a very rapid amount of time.”

Cielo Vista Mall will remain closed until the investigation is done. Vehicles there will remain there for several hours until the investigation is over.

The main gym of Burges High School, which is located at 7800 at Edgemere, has a family welcome area available.

Police advise members of the public to come to Burges High School if they haven’t spoken to loved ones.

Arriving at the reunification center were buses carrying shoppers who were inside the mall.

The leading organization is the El Paso Police Department.

Border Patrol, Texas DPS, and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office all arrived on the site.

A viewer’s camera captured shoppers fleeing the mall as a gunshot rang out. Who shot was not immediately known.
