A 3-year-old child found a loaded gun in a Texas home on March 12, 2023, Sunday, and shot her 4-year-old sister accidentally, an official claims.
About 8 o’clock in the evening, the girls, who resided with their parents in an apartment on Bammel North Houston Road, were in the bedroom, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
According to the sheriff, the girls were accidentally left alone while five adults—all family members or close friends—were in other areas of the residence.
Gonzalez added that it appeared that one parent assumed the other was possibly minding the other kids while, in reality, the two toddlers were left alone in the bedroom.

Gonzalez informed reporters outside the residence that the girl was declared dead at the spot after police responded to a 911 call made by the family.
“It just seems like another awful incident of, again, a child getting access to a gun and hurting someone else, and this time there was a fatal shot,” Gonzalez added.
