Taylor Swift is honoring the romance between Jake Bongiovi and Millie Bobby Brown.
The 33-year-old singer gave the post her stamp of approval by liking it after the couple appeared to announce their engagement on Instagram using lyrics from her song “Lover” on 11 April 2023 Tuesday.
The Stranger Things actress Brown, 19, shared a selfie of herself sporting a diamond ring on her left hand as actor boyfriend Bongiovi, 20, embraced her on the beach to share the happy news.
She used the lyrics from the Taylor Swift song as the caption for the black and white photo, adding, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”
Son of artist Jon Bon Jovi, Bongiovi posted a photo of the two during their seaside embrace taken from a different perspective. A photo of the couple gazing affectionately at one another on a boat was also included in his post. “Forever,” he said in the post’s caption.
The actress’s friends were eager to congratulate the couple after PEOPLE reached out to the couple’s representatives for confirmation. “Congrats gentlemen xx,” commented former Extra host Mark Wright in the comments section. Jessica Wright, his sister, said, “A big congratulations to you! @milliebobbybrown This is incredible. I’m very thrilled for you, sweetheart.”
Holly Ramsay, daughter of Gordon Ramsay, also sent her congratulations and the following message: “Congratulations!! Xx”
When Brown and Bongiovi posted a selfie together on Instagram in June 2021, romance speculations initially started to circulate. The words “BFF” and an emoji heart were used as the description for the photo by Bongiovi.
In November of that year, the couple made their romance Instagram official. On November 1, 2021, Brown shared a kiss with Bongiovi in a shot she uploaded to Instagram while riding the London Eye.
She referenced the well-known tourist destination by adding an eye and Ferris wheel emoji to the post’s caption.
Since then, they have been spotted together at Hollywood functions, including the Stranger Things season 4 premiere and the British Academy Film Awards, as well as in regular activities documented on Brown’s Instagram.
In January, Brown referred to Bongiovi as her “partner for life” before they got engaged.
She published a collection of images from 2022, showing the couple sharing a kiss in a photo booth, cuddling in a car, and having fun in the snow on New Year’s Day. She also posted amusing photos of her friends and pets.
“I’ve been in love with this year nonstop! I’m thankful for my life partner, friends, family, my donkey (Bernard), my dogs, and my puppy teeth “She wrote in the post’s caption. “Let’s do it again but better this year with you and the great people and animals around us,” I said.
In response, Bongiovi wrote in the comments section, “Your year lover loves you so much.”
In honor of Brown’s 19th birthday in February, Bongiovi posted numerous loving photos on Instagram along with a touching homage to the young woman.
The 20-year-first old’s photo showed the couple taking a sleep in the sun together, and the other pictures in his post showed him and his girlfriend having fun together in a pool, taking cheesy selfies, enjoying the great outdoors, and more.
