Elizabeth Holmes, creator of Theranos, will leave her husband and two young children as she prepares to serve more than 11 years in jail for fraud and manipulating investors.
BAased on Vanity Fair, the 39-year-old ex-CEO married 30-year-old hospitality heir William “Billy” Evans. The New York Times story on Elizabeth Holmes reveals their relationship and family life for the first time in years.

How Did Elizabeth Meet Her Husband?
Evans and Holmes first met in 2017 at a party and immediately clicked. He had housemates at the time and was only 25 years old.
“Days later, I was hanging out with Billy and he said, ‘You won’t believe who I met! She’s not as the articles portray her to be,” a former colleague told the New York Post.
Then, in August 2018, the couple was seen at Burning Man just a few days before an email was delivered to the company’s remaining employees informing them that Theranos was formally closing.

Yes, but not many specifics have been disclosed. The union took place over the 2019 summer. The wedding was also apparently placed in Silicon Valley.
Although he wasn’t present at the ceremony, Bilton announced the news on an episode of his podcast, Inside the Hive, saying, “I heard that no Theranos people were invited, which is interesting because she’s still friendly with some of her Theranos folks.”
What Does Billy Evans Do For A Living?
Evans’ first business failed. Based on his LinkedIn, he studied Chinese language and literature in China on a full scholarship.
Evans tried to start a medical shuttle firm for the Chinese elite after graduating from M.I.T. in 2015. One source indicated he wasn’t fluent in the language to create the endeavor.

How Many Children Do They Have?
Bilton predicted Holmes’ pregnancy before Evans and Holmes gave birth to their son, William Holmes Evans: “Holmes is going to get pregnant before she gets on the stand because she will look very sympathetic as a pregnant woman on the stand,” he remarked.
He was correct, too. The case was continued for a fourth time after Holmes informed the court that she was expecting in March 2021. According to US Weekly, COVID-19 has already caused them to be delayed three times.
According to ABC News, the couple’s first child was born on July 10, 2021.
When Holmes returned to court for her sentencing in November 2022, she seemed pregnant again. Those closely following the case think that a lighter sentence might have resulted from the fact that she is expecting again.
