Since their high school years, when Bryce attended Las Vegas High School and Kayla attended Green Valley High School, the two have been dating. Both Bryce and Kayla, née Varner, are natives of Henderson, Nevada. And although though Bryce was already being referred to be the “LeBron James of baseball” by the start of his high school freshman year, Kayla was first drawn to his more laid-back side.
When Kayla was still a student at Ohio State in 2014, the MLB player proposed to her for the first time. At the Washington Nationals’ annual Dream Gala fundraiser in June 2014, they made their first public appearance as a couple. Bryce’s teammate Gio Gonzalez referred to the engagement as a “blessing.”
Their wedding was scheduled for January 2015, however it never took place. Bryce and Kayla both unfollowed one other on Twitter and deleted references to one another from their Instagram biographies as the first indications of their breakup.

When Did Bryce Harper And Kayla Marry?
After a brief second engagement, Bryce and Kayla were wed on December 16, 2016, six months after their second engagement ended. They originally got their marriage sealed in the San Diego Church of Latter-day Saints Temple as active Mormons.
The most significant factor in our marriage, according to Kayla, was religion. The temple wedding is extremely sacred. Just taking in that moment with our immediate family was incredibly lovely.
Although the wedding was private, 270 guests attended the reception in San Diego’s Polo Fields, where Kayla used to play soccer. Bryce and Kayla had a barn constructed especially for their wedding so that it could accommodate the enormous reception.
