What is Fionna and Cake from Adventure Time About?
Those who are familiar with Fionna and Cake are aware that historical forays into their universe have been treated as fiction. The approach used in “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake” is considerably different. Simon Petrikov also lives in an everyday world, and it seems that this Fionna and Cake are from the same place.
They find themselves in fantastical worlds full of weirdness and enchantment. But it is not all fun and games; a weird adversary dressed in scarlet is bent on destroying them.
Notably, “Fionna and Cake” will handle the multiverse in a novel way, a topic that has perhaps been overused recently. We are sort of using the multiverse that we created for the show. Therefore, Adam Muto said to Inverse at San Diego Comic-Con, “We really want to drive the knife into it and kill it.
It is unclear exactly what that means, but the official trailer suggests we may see some recognizable characters, such as Finn and Jake. Given that Simon Petrikov claims to recall becoming Ice King, it is also possible that his fate will be affected by the multiverse.
The darker tone of “Adventure Time” may also be seen in “Fionna and Cake.” According to an interview between Max executive Suzanna Makkos and Comic Book Resources, the series is marketed for young adults. The “Adventure Time” fans have grown up, but newcomers are constantly pouring in and getting older, according to Makkos.
“It seemed to be the ideal show for us. Although Fionna is older, the tone is very similar to Adventure Time. She is an employee. Since it is more mature, I believe it will appeal to both our current fans as well as win over new ones.

Fionna and Cake Cast
Madeline Martin and Roz Ryan provide the voices for Fionna and Cake, just like in the original series. Outside of the “Adventure Time” series, Martin is most known for playing Becca Moody in “Californication” and has had guest appearances on various television programs like “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
Ryan, meantime, is a seasoned voice actor who has voiced a variety of characters, including Thalia in Disney’s “Hercules,” Bubbie the Whale on “The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack,” and many others.
Additionally, a well-known character from the original “Adventure Time” main cast will return in the new series. Tom Kenny, a well-known “SpongeBob SquarePants” voice actor who embodied Simon Petrikov/Ice King in the main series, will indeed be back.
It appears that the actor’s role will also have a lot of weight. At the New York Comic Con, according to Twitter user agitatedapple, Kenny allegedly told her that the new series was “the most emotional thing he has ever recorded.”
Finn and Jake are also present, therefore Simon will not be the only original “Adventure Time” character. Showrunner Adam Muto stated, “We do still kind of show a snapshot of them where they are at, because it did not make sense to not show them at all,” in an interview with Inverse.
Additionally, we are interested in how the dynamics between Finn, Jake, Fionna, and Cake compare. According to the trailer, John DiMaggio is unquestionably back as Jake. Will Jeremy Shada reprise his role as Finn? Although it is less evident, it is nevertheless feasible.
