It’s the ideal outcome that Jana Kramer has found her happily ever after.
On a Thursday edition of her “Whine Down with Jana Kramer” podcast, the country singer and “One Tree Hill” star disclosed her engagement to former soccer player Allan Russell.
“I’ve had a few things that I have been not talking about because (I) just want to do it when I’m ready, and so I’ve got an announcement today,” Kramer said. “Allan and I have been dating for six-and-a-half months, and he asked me to marry him.”
Regarding the method through which Russell proposed, Kramer claimed that it happened during a pool party when the couple and Kramer’s kids took a stroll to their new home. Russell sat on the front porch steps of the home and got down on one knee to ask Kramer to marry him.
“Jolie just started jumping up and down,” Kramer said of her daughter’s reaction to Russell’s proposal. “It’s like she knew what was happening.”
Kramer noted that the proposal’s venue at the couple’s future home added to the event’s significance.
“We just both started crying, and it felt very sentimental, given the front porch of the new house and new beginnings. It just felt right,” Kramer said. “We were actually supposed to be in Jamaica, but something happened with the resort, so we ended up staying here, but honestly that is exactly what I would have wanted.”
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Russell discussed the engagement and his friendship with Kramer.
“A forever with you just feels right and has done since the day I met you,” Russell wrote. “I’m proud to call you my fiancée and cherish every minute we spend together. I love you my little warrior.”
Kramer got engaged after her recent breakup with former NFL player Mike Caussin. Having been married for six years, the pair filed for divorce in April 2021.
Kramer said she had previously spoken with Caussin about the seriousness of her relationship with Russell. “(Mike) already knew that (Allan) is my partner whether we get married or engaged or whatever,” she said.
