Kim Petras Announces Modeling For Sports Illustrated Swimsuit

Kim Petras is currently a “cover girl.” The 30-year-old singer of “Heart to Break” will be one of four stars on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2023, the magazine said Monday. Petras is the second transgender woman in the magazine’s history to be on the cover.

The German pop princess announced the album’s release date and what looks like the cover art on social media. She called the album “Feed the Beast” and wrote, “The story starts on June 23rd. Feed The Beast” and gave fans a link to save the record ahead of time on streaming services.

The artwork, on the other hand, doesn’t show Petras at all. Instead, it shows a strange sword propped up against a huge obsidian rock against a dark blue sky. So far, it looks like Petras’s previously released songs “If Jesus Was a Rockstar,” “Brr,” and “Alone” with Nicki Minaj will be on Feed the Beast.

The news made the singer’s fans (called “Bunheads”) very happy. One wrote in the comments,  “CMON DEBUT! and another joked, “Kim, don’t turn around, the beast is behind you.”

The trans-Grammy winner is one of four cover models for this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. The other three are Martha Stewart, Megan Fox, and model Brooks Nader. She wears a gold bikini top created by Natalia Fender.
