The American superhero television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (MMPR) debuted on the Fox Kids programming block on August 28, 1993. It is the first installment of the Power Rangers franchise, and it, along with a huge selection of toys, action figures, and other items, became a pop cultural hit in the 1990s.
The episode used stock footage from the Kyry Sentai Zyuranger (1992–1993) Japanese TV series, the 16th entry in Toei’s Super Sentai series. Despite using stock footage and elements from Gosei Sentai Dairanger and Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, respectively, the second and third seasons of the anime continued to employ Zyuranger costumes for the lead actors.
Although the Kakuranger uniforms were eventually used for the mini-series Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers, only the Kakuranger mecha and the Kiba Ranger (White Ranger) costume from Dairanger were used in the second season. Bandai Entertainment created and distributed the show’s goods, while MMPR Productions created and distributed the television series.
