Watch RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 Right Now! Don’t Miss The Drama

New seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiere so frequently that it’s hard to tell when the actual “season” of the show is. That being stated, the fifteenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race has officially begun.

The success of the original U.S. version of RuPaul’s Drag Race has spawned a number of localized versions throughout the world. It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that RuPaul’s Drag Race and drag queens, in general, have conquered the world, what with the reality competition spawning more than three U.S. spin-offs and ten international spin-offs across just as many nations.

Just look at Shea Coulee, the first drag queen to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Shangela, the first drag queen to compete on Dancing With the Stars, if you don’t believe us. Not to deviate too much from the topic at hand, but the program has won the Emmy for Outstanding Competitive Program four times, and RuPaul has won 12 Emmys himself.

Season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered in January 2022, and in April of that year, Willow Pill was crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar. Since then, Jinkx Monsoon, winner of Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has come back and won the all-winners season of All Stars 7.

It’s time to restart with a brand-new group of enthusiastic Ru-girls. Although the show’s new cast members have not yet been revealed, the premiere date and channel details have been released.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Aired On January 6, 2023

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 aired on January 6, 2023. Given that drag queens are inherently political, it’s not a surprise that the show chose to start its milestone season on the two-year anniversary of the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2017. RuPaul or World of Wonder haven’t confirmed or backed this up, but it’s not hard to read between the lines.

The fact that the 200th episode of the reality show will air during season 15 makes it even more of a big deal. MTV has called this season the “BIGGEST” season of the show so far, which doesn’t mean much since every new season is bigger and better than the last one, and we fall in love with it every time.

Last season, the show used the famous chocolate bar as a way for any queen who had the golden one to get out of trouble. Most viewers didn’t like it, and it didn’t add much to the season. Bosco getting the golden chocolate bar felt like the most staged and planned thing the show has ever done. Let’s hope that season 15 can find a better way to be new and different.
