Mallory Beach, 19, lost her life in a fatal boat crash in February 2019 that Paul Murdaugh was a part of. Paul was charged with boating under the influence causing death and two charges of boating under the influence causing serious bodily harm months after the collision.

But two years later, Paul and his mother, Maggie Murdaugh, were killed; his father is now under investigation for the crime. After Paul passed away, the South Carolina attorney general’s office dropped all charges against him but continued to release images of the boat catastrophe.

Mallory Beach, 19, was killed on February 23, 2019, when Paul Murdaugh, who was 19 at the time, is accused of operating a boat with five other people when it crashed near Parris Island, South Carolina.

On Paul Murdaugh’s boat that fatal evening, Anthony and Mallory went with Paul and his then-girlfriend Morgan Doughty, Anthony’s cousin Connor Cook, and his girlfriend Miley Altman.

Paul was described by Anthony as being “outta his mind intoxicated” in the Netflix series Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal. He continued by saying that despite friends’ advice not to operate the boat, Paul did.

Anthony said, “I heard a scream, and then I was out. When he regained consciousness, he discovered Mallory was nowhere to be found.”

According to WSAV, Anthony filed a separate civil complaint in 2021 against Alex Murdaugh, the convenience shop where Paul bought the booze, and the salesperson.

In the Netflix documentary, Morgan, Paul’s fiancée, also disclosed that Paul had a propensity for being intoxicated and aggressive, recalling one instance in 2017 where he crashed a truck and his family allegedly arrived on the scene to conceal firearms and beer cans before the police arrived.

Yet, Paul was never held accountable for Mallory’s passing because he was fatally shot on June 7, 2021. In connection with the deaths of Maggie and Paul, his father is currently on trial and is accused of double homicide.

Murdaugh has entered a not-guilty plea, and the prosecution is seeking a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
