Why Is James Corden Leaving Show?
James broke the news to his live audience and the show’s viewers at home later on 29 Dec 2022 Thursday night on an episode of The Late Late Show.
“When I first began my journey, I knew it would only be that—a journey and an experience. I never considered [the show] to be my ultimate goal, and I never want it to go on for too long. I honestly believe that one year from now will be a good time to go on and see what else might be available. I always want to adore making it,” he said.
He also revealed to Deadline that he plans to pursue writing after leaving The Late Late Show. He continued, “There are still a few other things I feel like doing.” I want to try writing. I have a few tales I’d like to share. I want to test my ability to do it. The motivation to do it is that it’s terrifying. Does This Mean The Late Late Show Is Ending?
For the time being, the show will continue. James will host Carpool Karaoke with other celebs for another entire year, and fans will get to enjoy many more of his funny sketches.
The show’s future has not yet been determined by CBS officials, who have not yet said if James will be replaced or if the show would continue into 2023. James was very successful in connecting with audiences by taking creative risks with segments like Crosswalk the Musical and Carpool Karaoke, according to CBS President and CEO George Cheeks in a statement. “While we wish he could stay longer, we are thrilled that this partnership will continue for one more season of The Late Late Show and that he made CBS his home in America.”
Ben Winston, an executive producer for The Late Late Show, hinted in a tweet that he would be leaving the program in 2023 as well.
“An era is coming to an end, but not just yet. We are happy to have renewed for another year. However, it’ll be our last. The culmination of our greatest endeavour is near. Going to work every day with my closest friend, the most amazing man in the world, has never brought me greater delight,” he wrote.
