After being open for less than a year, the two-day hotel experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Disney World is closing and will set sail for the last time in September.
The 48-hour space adventure incorporates aspects from the company’s resorts, cruise lines, and theme parks. The Galactic Starcruiser first hinted at during Disney’s D23 Expo in 2019, opens in March 2022 and is close to the company’s Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Galactic Starcruiser Hotel Cost
Approximately $1,200 per person daily is spent on the trip, with family packages costing closer to $6,000 for the two-day expedition. That can be a problematic figure to comprehend, especially when you realize that, depending on the hotel and restaurant options, a typical Disney vacation for a family of four can cost that much for a week-long trip.

But the Galactic Starcruiser has been praised as the ultimate Star Wars experience, a fan’s fantasy come true. A hotel room, all meals, and drinks, a day trip to the Hollywood Studios theme park, a Magic Band, and valet service at drop-off are all included in the two-day excursion.
But the Galactic Starcruiser is not merely a lodging. It is an absorbing experience. On the Halcyon, travelers meet new people and choose whether to support the light or the dark side.
The overarching plot goes like this: You are a passenger on a Starcruiser for a two-day journey. During the voyage, a First Order officer and several stormtroopers board the ship to find Resistance spies. Along with these bad guys, a Star Wars plot must have spies, musicians, rebels, and hesitant heroes.
Naturally, other well-known characters such as Kylo Ren, Rey, and Chewbacca also appear. The event had some of the most excellent customer satisfaction scores in Walt Disney World history. It was recognized with a Thea Award for extraordinary achievement in themed entertainment.
However, the boutique hotel turned out to be too expensive for the majority of Star Wars enthusiasts.
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment,” the company said in a statement. “This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”
It is unknown if the cost of building the Starcruiser is included in the $2 billion reported by Disney for constructing its two immersive Star Wars parks in Florida and California.
