Prior to joining the Memphis Police Department in 2008, Redd was a Marine. According to coworkers, Redd worked in crisis intervention and trained other police officers. At his congregation, the Greater Community Temple of the Church of God in Christ, he also served as director of security.

On Monday night, Redd, a husband, and father, was honored with a “Sea of Blue,” in which law enforcement personnel cruised around Memphis in their police vehicles lights turned on.

Here is a tweet embedded for your preference about the happening with Memphis Officer:

Pastors gave Biblical readings during his burial service on Tuesday at Hope Church, and a chorus accompanied a group of powerful vocalists as they sang spiritual songs.

Redd’s fellow Marine, James Patrick Riley, claimed that despite not being the biggest man, he was the most powerful Marine in his squad. Riley recalled that Redd had a big smile on his face.

“I couldn’t be grumpy around him,” Riley said.

People are shocked by young childens shooting:

Redd was a close friend of Lt. Tara Sloan of the Mississippi West Point Police Department, who remarked that she will remember him for his “dignity, dedication, spirituality, and integrity.” His close friends and family referred to him as a man of God who was about to finish a course in religious instruction this year.

Officers responded to a trespassing incident in the library shooting after a guy sparked a fight with another individual there. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has said that when authorities tried to speak with him, he pulled out a firearm and fired.

Redd was struck. As his teammate fired back, the suspect was killed.

The TBI reports that although there were staff and customers in the library at the time, nobody else was wounded.

Redd and his partner displayed bravery in the confrontation, Memphis Police Director Cerelyn “CJ” Davis remarked during the funeral.

Davis stated, “I have no doubt that this one precious life’s ultimate sacrifice saved the lives of others who on that terrible day were also in danger.”
